Help Contribute to my MIT education
Dear Friends,
I just got accepted to Massachusetts Institute of Technology and I have accepted their offer of admission. However, I realized that I do not have the money to attend. Pretty soon, MIT will ask me to pay for the tuition for the year 2008-2009. The cost of tuition is $36,930, the cost of room and meals is $10,860, the cost of Books is $2,850, and the cost of travel is $100 - a total of $50,200, and I am more than $40,000 away. I want to ask you to contribute to my MIT education, but first let me tell you something about myself.
I am a normal teenager from a normal Middle class family living in a small town in New York City. I have a little sister, a mother and a father. I attend a regular High School with thousands of other kids. In the past, I have volunteered at a hospital, helping patients with their needs, volunteered at the library, helping other students with Math and other subjects, and did many other community services for the community and for my school. I am a member of the school's tutoring committee and I help tutor students my age and younger after school everyday. At home, I do chores such as washing the dishes, cleaning the clothes, and cooking food for the family. When I am not doing chores, I am studying and reading. Occasionally, I go to the park and play basketball and frisbee with my friends.
Ever since I was little, I have always wanted to attend MIT. MIT is my dream school and I studied very hard to get accepted. I love Math and Science and I want to explore them further at MIT. Now that I am accepted, there's only one last barrier that's preventing me from attending- money.
I am not asking much. I am only asking you to donate $1 to me. If you can donate more, please do so, but I am only asking you to donate $1 to me. Then, I ask that you please send this this website's link to 2 friend of yours who will contribute to my MIT education. I hope that this will add up quick enough before MIT asks me to pay for the tuition. I will close this website as soon as I have acquired what I need.
